green tea, tangerine, honey, pecan
marsellesa, obatá varieties
Don Alfonso Robelo took over the management of the Aquiares Estate farm in 1992. Thanks to its visionary skills, this farm has become one of the largest and most respected in the country. Since it was also about the social dimension of business from the beginning, today it supports the community of more than 1,800 people.
This washed lot is a mixture of Marsellesa and Obatá varieties. Both varieties have an excellent taste and are also resistant to a well-known disease – coffee rust, which is a common nightmare for many farmers. Mixing these varieties was an experiment, but very successful. Both have similar properties and so they complement each other really well in taste.
Costa Rica coffee is still making its way in selected coffee and there is a lot of prejudice against them. However, unique coffees like Entre Rios clearly convince us that this country has huge potential. The balanced body with the taste of green tea and the acidity of mandarin beautifully complements the sweetness of honey and the aftertaste of pecans, which are typical for this area.
